The movie is really good. It is made differently from Batman Begins. The acting is amazing, but the more I see it my feelings change and to be honest I love Heath Ledger's performance, but I don't think he is going to win the best actor award. His performance is amazing but look at Aaron Eckhart's performance again and I suddenly realized his performance was amazing. We shall see what happens at the academy awards. IMDBs rating of this movie is a little high on the overall top 250 movies. Sitting on top of that list is not the position I would put that movie. After this movie I have to say if they create a two face movie I will be very upset because the ending of Dark Knight was done well. If they make a movie with two face then I will say they wasted 45 mins of my life creating the ending to Dark Knight. The action scenes were amazing, but the part that got me the most was the stupid motorcycle Batman rides. Everything about that bike is totally unbelievable, but then again it is just a movie. People say that the Joker lics his lips a lot, but I didn't notice that at all. The music score by Hans Zimmer is pretty good with the movie, but it is not a sound track to go buy. It is very boring. Movie scores are supposed to show emotion and help drive a scene and the music does, but the music just doesn't leave you humming a tune. The music stays in the background where it is supposed to do. The music is very boring to listen to by itself. I could say that this could be my least favorite music score by Hans.

Well lets see what happens in the next batman movie.

Waiting

Ok so it is official that I can't wait for winter. Well new for us, but it is old. Anyway we are going on a trip at the end of this month. We decided that we wanted to do the Newport to Ensenada Sailboat race. I am not sure if we will win, I actually highly doubt we will win. It is something to try and something to have fun doing. I just hope we don't run into any trouble heading down that way. This is how it will work. On Friday the 25th the race starts and we should hopefully make it to Ensenada on Saturday some time. Then we will sail back up to San Diego to pull our boat out of the water and trailer it back home. I am getting a little nervous just as that is going to be a crazy long trip. I will give more updates as we get closer.

Photos

Well I have started down a road leading to a very expensive hobby. I decided I want to take up photography. Let me tell you this, it takes some money to get into. Then you think that the money you pay to get a camera and a lens is not bad. Lately I have come to realize how much more expensive than I thought it was. I just started looking at lenses and I just saw the price tag. And everyone has it for about 1600 dollars. So at the moment I must be content with my stock lens and camera. I decided that it is more important at this moment for me to save up for a car and I can get the lens later. I thought I would share some pics with you.

Human Flying

If you could fly would you? I went bowling with the fam and it was fun. The only thing is that I had the worst scores in my life. I started off wearing my dad's old shoes because they are a little tight for him. We started bowling and my dad started complaining about the rental shoes. He kept saying they don't slide. He went up and exchanged them for another pair and we continued playing. After a couple more fames he said we needed to switch. So I put on the rental and started to bowl. Let me tell you this was the one of the craziest moments in bowling I have ever had in my life, well second. I slipped and fell on my first throw, a little slippery than I expected. Well anyway, I went up and my form was beautiful. I started to approach as the ball took my and brought it back like a pendulum. When the ball got to my side on the return motion I was about to get ready to release the ball. I started to release and when I put left foot flat and would begin to slide I immediately stopped and the ball jerked out of my hand and went somewhere off the side and I almost went down. The shoes just did not slide at all. As hard as I tried as soon as my heal was flat on the ground it was like I had hit a wall because I just stopped moving. This caused me to swing the ball and instead of going down the center the jerk of the stop moved my arm and the ball went into the gutter. I thought maybe I needed to get used to the shoe. Trust me, that did not work and as much as I tried to compensate for the sudden stop I could never get a good enough throw. I felt that if I continued not being careful my arm would fly out of my socket. I went to the front desk this time and went to see if there were any better shoes. The guy running the desk said (mind the language) "They are all pretty shitty. You just got to pick your own poison." I did a switch with another pair. They were better but not by much. Instead of an immediate stop I got a half second slide before the sudden stop. Let me tell you these were the worst designed bowling shoes I have ever seen in my life. You really cannot call them bowling shoes, they are strictly bowling shoe look-a-likes. My dad and I ended up switching shoes every time we went to bowl. I just slipped them off and gave the shoes to my dad and he slipped them on. My dad was like you have to be quick so there was no untying and tying involved. Besides the shoes being so cruddy I had a great time.

Watches

Today there is still a small population of people like me who still wear a watch. I had a professor talk about jewlry for guys and girls and she ask who had the most expensive watch. I heard the funniest response from a student "who still wears a watch today?" I guess it shows that watches are not being worn as much. For me a I have to have watch or I will feel naked and helpless. I always need to know what the time is. An arguement would be use a cell phone, but I don't always have my cell phone on me, and grabbing my cell phone takes longer. Well any way I just wanted to know which hand you wear your watch on. I always get slack for wearing my watch on my right hand. At first this might sound normal, but I am right handed. People tell me all the time that my watch belongs on the left hand. My thought pattern when I first started to wear watches was when I write I can just slightly turn my hand and I can see my watch. This is much faster and more efficiant for me, but I am not sure about other people The second thing is I have been trying to switch the watch to my left hand but it feels weird. I have noticed that the watch grabs onto my arm hair and pulls on it and my left arm is a little more clumsy than my right. Then I feel out of balance with the watch on my left. I don't know, I am probably just a freak. Does anyone else wear their watch on the right hand or the hand they write with.

Family

Well this weekend is my Grandpa's 80th birthday so all the family came down from out of area. So some of my family is staying with us. That means that we have a packed house. Seven people in a three bedroom house and two bathrooms. But besides being a little packed I am actually enjoying this. There is nothing like being with family. I know that when we get my uncle down here we always have fun. It is also nice becuase they live near Reno and they don't come out much.
Tonight when I got home from work they were all here and were getting ready for dinner. I do have to say dinner was the best in a while. We were all sitting around and laughing and telling jokes. It was really nice to have them here and it will be sad to see them go on Sunday. To me there is nothing like the good times you get when you have your extended family over and chatting and having fun. It is like this great feeling I can't describe. In today's society you don't always get to be with your family because you move out and then you see them once in a while. The worst is when they move pretty far away and you hardly ever see them. I almost wish that our society was a little closer when it comes to family because I think family is important. I remeber the last time I was with my dad's brothers were were up at Huntington Lake having a great time. Now here is the funny story. So my dad's brother dave and would walk up to my dad and say hey gregg what are you doing which is really funny because that is my dad's other brother's name, but my dad would respond. Then my dad would start laughing and go did you just call me gregg and my uncle dave would go yes tom I did. Funny thing is that all four of us would do the same thing to each other and we did it all weekend long. We were all laughing and when the weekend was up and we left and that could have been a good thing because we could actually call each other the right name then. Just funny all the good times we have.

Rush Hour 3

This movie has been long over due. I have been waiting ever since I first saw Rush Hour 2 for this movie. Let me tell you that I was a little bummed when I found out that they were not going to be in New York just because they ended the second movie with them going to New York. But I do have to say that they did a great job writing this script. I thought the relationship between Carter and Lee got pretty funny and very enjoyable. There were some scenes that just had me falling off my chair when you looked at them and going what that is what Carter does not Lee. I do have to say that having them go to France was pretty funny and I think that is what made the movie. Just whenever you see the movie remember the Cab driver. I think tha the is the best character in the whole movie. Overall I would rate this movie 5 out of 5. I think that the movie could possibly top the other two movies and those were really good. I just thought that Carter has now got some skill and now that he can sorta handle himself I predict that they will have another film and it will get pretty good. I just got to keep my eyes open for anything that would lead to another film. I do have to say there were a couple scenes were there was some bad acting, but the acting was from one character and it wasn't totally awful. Well I hope you all go out and enjoy this film and laugh as hard as I did.

The Review

Well I just got back from seeing the movie Bourne Ultimatum and now I am going to do a review for you.

The first hour I was totally lost as to what was going on. The second one ended with Jason in a room looking at Pam Landy while talking on the phone. You would totally assume that that is where they would continue the film. Well that is not how it works in this movie. I guess they go back a few months and start there. He is in Austria I believe and then jumps to another country then to another country. What I don't understand is the timeline on how this whole thing flows because it ends ok in the second movie but the timeline shifts back and then works its way to the end of the second movie and then continues on to give you the rest of the story.

After that little confusion I really started to understand how the movie was progressing. I do have to say that the movie was action packed and awesome. The camera work was mostly done while someone was holding the camera and moving around, and as we know, this gives us the Blair Witch Project feel. It started to get hard to follow in a couple of spots. The car chases were awesome. The only thing is the chase in NYC was hard to see at times to make out what was going on, but it was still pretty awesome. I just wish it was a little longer. The chase I cannot say if it will rate as high as Ronin, but it did have a different prospective. You get a totally different car chase feel when you are destroying everything, including your car. Most of the movies I see they damage the car, but it is not totalled beyond repair. But I guess that is the feel you get from the Bourne series. The movie starts a low, but it is still filled with action and then builds and builds. Then when you start to get to the climax it just gets beyond measure and then still builds more. I thought the ending was done very well and it left me very satisfied.

Just a side note, the audience was awesome. We were clapping, doing the ohh ahh thing, and then going yess!!! I had a great time and I hope that your audience gets it to it like we did.

Vista

Vista has been out for several months now and when you buy a computer today you are pretty much just going to get Vista. I was just wondering what some of the thought were on Vista. I myself want to see an upgrade from XP but from the things I was hearing before the release worried me and now I have been totally against Vista. I just think that in order to run vista you need a screaming machine, but not everybody has a screaming machine. So it is not good for a person who buys a lower model unit because it can't hadle Vista and then they are sorta stuck with it. Now I do have to say it looks really nice, but I don't see how that is worth it. I myself am a Mac user so I have all the pretty GUI so to speak so I don't have to worry. But the thing is with the apple you don't really see a performance hit when running all the features that make it cooler and cooler. But there is other issues for my switch. I work at a comuter store and all I hear is do you sell anything that is not Windows Vista. So it sorta makes me a wonder a little if Vista is all that great. I have herd some postives on the whole Vista deal, but I am not sure the pros out weigh the cons. Check this out everybody. One of the managers built a screaming machine with an Intel E6300, 2gbs ram (I think he might have more), dual 8600GTSs, the intel board from the Intel combo pack, and inside an Antec Nine Hundred case. He tells me his older computer by a year or so boot XP faster than his new machine boots Vista. Interesting isn't it. Does that just mean Vista is just insanely huge? I don't know, but I would like to hear some thoughts on Windows Vista.

Borne Vs. Bond

Well this has been a topic between a few of us at my work. In a Hand to Hand combat who do you think would win James Bond or Jason Borne?

I personally believe that Jason Borne would win just because he can read your moves and he has thought a few moves ahead that he should be able to take you down. Also he is very quick and very well trained in Martial Arts. I don't know how long the fight would last, but I don't think it would be long. The thought of Borne winning has been the general consensus of all of us at my work.

Then I thought I would take it up a notch and ask if Bond and Borne were to be each other's targets who do you think would win. Now with this one, the first rule would be that the Bond would be Daniel Craig just because Casino Royale was very realistic, and he can kick but. The other rule is no crazy gadgets and you all know what I am talking about.

I have mixed feelings about this only because Bond has resources that Borne may not have. They both have different ways of getting their targets which makes be unsure of who could actually win. But I have the feeling that it would be Bond. That could just be my bias thought there. The people at my work are also on the fence with that vote as well. It seems like it is tied down the middle.

I just wanted to know what you thought about this topic.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://eckthetech.blogspot.com/2007/08/borne-vs-bond.html' title='Borne Vs. I don't know about many of you, but I am looking forward to this day. In 2002 we got a glipse of his life and we learned a few things about him and the treadstone program. The second film Borne Sepremacy we found out that it is convient for people to frame things on him but find out that they should never have framed him. We learned that the CIA will do whatever it takes to kill him. We got a little glimpse at the end of 2 that he has a real life. I wonder if going back through his history will lead him to remembering everything. This movie should be one of the greatest movies this year and possibly in history. The production teams have done well in the past and I can only imagine that they will make this film better than the other two. From the trailers I think they will be great especially the car chase I was watching from the trailer. Every movie had a car chase and they always get better and better. I think this chase could probably go at the top of car chases. The chase from the movie Ronin was one of the best I have seen but from their standards this chase should top my list. I would diffenately say this will be your typical action movie, but on steriods. I will be seeing it at midnight and I will try to get a review up for it ASAP.

North American Union

I am currently enrolled in a speech class and I was looking for a speech topic until my dad told about an issue. So I did lots of research and I am no expert but I wan to share some of the facts that I came across. The idea of North American Union which would be like the European Union but for the US, Canada, and Mexico. The very idea when you talk to people is yeah right that will never happen. The idea of this every happening just sound so stupid and unrealistic that peopel don't want to believe that this could happen. Let me just tell you that it can happen. The council of Foriegn relations created a document called "Building a North American Community" and this document was created by members the US, Canada, and Mexico. In there is a very scary paragraph. I will sum this up for you. In the year 2010, there should be agreements with the US and Canada to open the borders to let the free flow of skilled labor travel and work where they want to help boost the economy and create a better and more competitive market. It then goes on to say that soon after this has happened the borders between Mexico, Canada, and the US should be opened only after the wage difference has Diminished. The last sentence is almost word for word. To me I was thinking ok so Mexico's wages would go up to make it about the same as ours here in the US, and that could be a great thing for Mexico. Then after talking to some people I got a different view. What if the word diminished ment that our wages had to lower to match Mexico's wages? Hmmm very interesting now isn't it. Doesn't this just sound like a bad idea so far. That sounds like our style of living would change and possibly do a couple of things, lower our economy, and possibly turn us from a first world country to a third world country. There is other things going on like the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) superhighways that are being created. There are going to be major toll roads going straight from the border of the US and Mexico straight up to Canada. All this ofcourse will be wide open. No inspections of Mexican trucks to make sure they are up to the US standards. The what about inspections of cargo. If we cannot check all the shipping containers here into the US, how can we check the trucks. Or what about thism, Kansas City being a port city, mostly funded by China. China is paying for construction of a port in Mexico which will take packages straight up to Kansas City. Now here is the crazy thing. Supposedly there is going to be or is a piece of Mexican sovern land on that property in Kansas. That doesn't make sense now does it. These are just the bigger issues I have found or researched. I am posting this not to make you believe something but to make you want to research this topic. The scary thing is that the SPP (Security and Prosperity Partnership) which was created to make sure that the steps to making a North American Community are taking place reports that they are not here to make a European Union type place. This issue is so under the radar and not talked about that people don't know what is going on and will not know what is going on until it finally happens. I would encourage every to read up on this issue. I would encourage you all not to just read the information that I got an just believe it or just shrug it off. I encourage you all to go and research and make your own decisions. I do have to say sorry that I did not go in to such great detail as you could seriously write for pages and pages so I thougt I would some up som of the information a lot. I will post back again here some time with a lot more information. If you have any questions or comments I would love to see if I can answer them for you.

Here are some links for you to follow.

Eagle Forum - eagleforum.org - A little bias to the issue that this is going to happen, but you will get a lot of information. I encourage you to look at this site and cross reference the topics. For the most part my research has shown that their claims do match those of other sites.
Council of Foreign Relations - cfr.org - do a search for North American Commnity and the document that I got should come up.
Secruity and Prosperity Partnership - spp.gov - look around and see what they actually do. From other things I have read, the spp site does not give you all the facts that they have. The leave out some information to get you to think it is ok.
